A Personal Statement from Mandy McKenzie, founder of Kiff.

Before Kiff

I was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa.  Over the past 20 years, I’ve completed a Commerce Degree, married my high school sweetheart, lived in London for 10 years, enjoyed a successful career in IT, had three children, and moved to Sudbury, Massachusetts.

 Inspiration for Kiff

My mom was passionate about baking.  I have fond memories of her baking and singing along to olde-worlde music.  My sisters and I would hover around like vultures, waiting to lick the bowl.  I inherited my mom’s love of baking.  Her recipes have been handed down for generations, in now old, faded books, scraps of paper, letters, e-mails and texts.  Anyone who has tasted my home bakes has said: "You should sell these”.  So in January 2015, I decided to do just that, and created Kiff Food.

Growth of Kiff

I started selling Kiff direct to customers and at local Farmers' Markets.  By January 2017, Kiff was being sold in 20 retail stores across Massachusetts, including Roche Bros, Duck Soup, Siena Farms, Concord Cheese Shop and Formaggio Kitchen. In April 2017, my first retail store, Duck Soup, acquired Kiff to become the exclusive producers and retailers of Kiff.
